Hi! My name is Jody Beth Smith-Gonzalez. I am the granddaughter of Lou and Beth Saunders (co-owned with Gramp's brother and sister-in-law, Ches and Barbara Saunders). My grandparents owned and operated Bluff Creek Resort from the early 1960's through the time of my Gramp's passing in 1995. My mother, Barbara Saunders-Smtih, her sister Carolyn Saunders-Smith obtained ownership along with their cousins at the time of Gramp and Gram's passing. This is how I remember the store when I was young. It is an amazing place. The campgrounds are still open, however, after the store closed in the 1990's, it has not reopened. I have amazing memories of Bluff Creek Resort, after all, I was up there for summers on end! My family has experienced numerous Bigfoot phenomena. My mother has Polaroid photos taken in 1977 of footprints we found behind the cabins at BCR, my dad's foot is in the image for comparison. Hi Steven... I confess, I haven't listened yet. But I am a C2C Streamlink member and will listen to your interview soon. I always listen later so I can skip commercial breaks, which drive me batty. After I listen in, I'll write something about it on my blog. I have to admit I was THRILLED when I saw you were a scheduled guest. I'm so happy for you because you've done so much work on Bigfoot research with your store and blog, and you deserve the recognition, and besides that, you're a genuinely nice guy. In my opinion.

I just came upon your site. I used to camp at Fish Lake and so remember the Bluff Creek store. I wish I had taken photo of the inside of this place. It was loaded with all kinds of goodies. The owner was so nice.

The last time we were there, the owner said she would probably have to close because she could not bring her gasoline storage tanks up to EPA standards and the gas she sold was a huge part of her revenue.

I guess it's gone by now.

Hubby and I heard many strange sounds while camping, but could not say i was Bigfoot. We did take photos of huge print in the snow we found near Forest Glen on highway 36 in Ca.

We now have property in Washington State and have had BRFO out to evaluate our place for Bigfoot. The do believe that our little lake in on a migratory route for these creatures.

You should really be proud of your work. It was extremely well documented and entertaining.

We investigated ALL of the known proposed PGF site locations, and ruled all of them out save for this last one upstream. One thing it had going for it is that Gimlin had said the thought he had recalled the right spot for the first sighting back in 2003. Unfortunately, this he was not certain, and this feeling of his about the location was not adequately communicated to the large group there from the International Bigfoot Symposium. Still, no one had described WHERE the creature actually walked, whether the creek and sandbar were the same, and where the big trees were. Gimlin said this to Bobo, Bobo told Cliff, and Cliff told me that this was Gimlin's opinion nearly two years ago. We made plans last summer to get back in there and survey this location to see if we could find artifacts from the time of the film, as we'd found ample evidence of logging stumps and flood debris still in the creek from 1964-1966 events. We worked with Finding Bigfoot advance crew to show them the site location. When Bob Gimlin returned summer 2011 for filming he took them right back to this spot, just downstream from Rene Dahinden's mark on the map as seen in Daniel Perez' booklet. They filmed from the south side of the creek, and did the recreation on the north bank, showing Bobo walking along the rocks and gravel at the creekside. This was a great confirmation again from Bob, but they did not actually go up onto the SANDBAR. We know that the film was shot on a sand and gravel bar created by the 1964 flood. Now, though there still is an actual sandbar still there, it simply looks like a dense overgrown forest. We found years ago that you could stick your hand in the ground there and pull up a handful of sand. This, then, was certainly the place, we thought, not where Finding Bigfoot had gone. Walking back up on the sandbar we had found big trees in 2009, but none seemed to be the right ones. Luckily I saw Bill Munns' recreation of the film action, showing the creature and cameraman moving drastically diagonally across the sandbar, with camera moving much more than previously thought. On walking down to the far apparently "eastern" side of the spot, despite its apparent location beyond the film action, we found what certainly looked like the big tree. It matched Munns' recreation, defeating an optical illusion of the film being shot as it were "straight" up across the sandbar facing north. We found that true north by compass is what seemed like the more eastern end of the bar. Surveying the site we were able to find basically all of the major older log piles, stumps and standing trees seen in the film. Mathematical analysis done on our site survey map compared with Dahinden's fine 1971 overview photo PROVED this sandbar, up from where Bobo walked and Finding Bigfoof filmed, was INDEED the spot. No doubt remains. We will be back up there this summer to gather new data. Look to this blog for further information then.

I smell some recreations coming? Something more detailed than what Bobo and Cliff were able to do given the time and crew they had.

I do have a question...

In the episode of Finding Bigfoot filmed with Bob Gimlin, were Cliff and Bobo at the correct site? It looked like it was, but I am not sure. And if it was the correct site, was it Bob that found it for the crew, or did you point them in the right direction?

The show is really quite stupid and the characters on the show seem to discredit themselves as soon as they open their mouths. I am a believer, but am ashamed by the kindergarten approach of these guys. On one episode they found a heel print and immediately insisted it could only be Bigfoot. Are you serious? I'm glad Bigfoot is doing his best to hide from these guys.

I think you guys at bigfoot books are doing a helluva job,i was a deputy sheriff/firefighter for 20 years and did 3 years in csi/crime lab,if there is a sighting or abduction you treat it like a crime scene every time so you dont make mistakes,photos,physical evidence,dna,etc,But in Mr.Paulides case he seems to be the only Sherlock Holmes in the business,you dont burn hyour bridges like a dumbass,so you can share information and get the truth out there,if he (Dave) thinks he's the only one who can do it,he is terribly mistaken,and just because your a cop doesnt make you a good investigator,a good report writer "yes" but not always a good investigator!! You guys keep up the good work,your better than that holy horseshit stuff.

BFF seems to only allow two opinions both conservative though opposing, anything inbetween is not only denegrated by other members freely but the mods work one by one to give out warnings to the polite member with the wrong opinion to the point of openly defaming them, till they are permanently banned and their reputation destroyed. I know its happening to me. The Australian Yowie Hunters forum is worse but apparently their defamation and slander of ex members has an important place in BBF decisions. I want to read the book. My view on MM is his enthusiasm clouds reality. He believes so hard that when scientists debunk his evidence he has to defend the fool he is. His baby Bigfoot pictures( Bears with mange) are one example. The other example is from his show going in detail how a dead deer was a "Squatch" kill and how Bigfoot hunts. When Ranae told him there are many reasons the deer could have died and had the broken leg he got angry at her. MM wants to show me a housecat but tell me it's a tiger because he says it's a tiger and that is his proof. I want to believe they could exist also but when you throw in these people telling me they are interdimensional beings along with MM's view it only makes them laughable. Dr Meldrum is credible and backs up his evidence with fact.

I was pleased to see the use of trig to derive angles and distances. I hope this can be backed up in the future by snapshots (single-frame images) taken by a K-100 on-site to further confirm these estimates.

Is there any chance of getting permission to clear the site of shrubbery? A cleared site would help greatly in this confirmation process.

If the site could be cleared, then the arguments of debunkers like Schmidt & Daegling, who claim that there isn't enough data in the film to make estimates of the Bigfoot's IMI and other ratios, could be debunked. Photos could be taken at a range of distances and angles-to-the-subject (ideally, a flexible, adjustable model of Patty, or at worst a guy in a gorilla suit) and it could be shown how this set of photos brackets (narrows down) the range of possible values.

Then this technique could be applied to images of the re-enactor in succeeding frames to narrow down the range of values for Patty's length-of-step, and thence her speed, etc. (I hope a professional forensic or military photo analyst could be brought in to help with this.)

This repetitive test-fitting and narrowing down could converge on a tight range of possible IMI values, and other body-part ratios, as well as walking speed, that are outside the human range.

In conjunction with tests on a model with Patty’s estimated body-part ratios, an ape-suited human, and a human in ordinary clothing, could be photographed at the same spots and in the same postures, to demonstrate how they wouldn’t “fit” the mathematical requirements of the test. This would provide disproof by contradiction of the claim of anthropologist Sarmiento that external estimates of IMIs have enough slack in them to allow a human to appear to have Patty’s limb ratios.

These inhuman features are very strong evidence of Patty's reality. (So are Patty's un-costume-like features and movements, such as lip movement, teeth, tongue, etc.) None of the other objections to the PGF could outweigh math's remorseless logic.

Even if the film site isn't cleared, this analysis could be done in an unused football field in which proxies for the stumps and other landmarks matched their position in the film. A football field’s own landmarks would be very helpful in accurately placing landmark proxies on it. (E.g., “place stump #3 on the 20-yard line, 23 feet and 2 inches from the sideline.”) A fine-grained gridded map, based on an exquititely accurate measurement of the filmsite’s landmarks, would allow others to replicate this test.
